Reed Energy Group is a leading provider of gas plant TA services.
We are currently hiring a Steamfitter-Pipefitters and Apprentice to join our team. The successful candidate must be capable of working in a fast-paced team environment.
Position Summary:
The Pipefitter is responsible to fabrication, layout, assembly, installation, and maintenance of piping structures used in conveying chemicals, steam, and hot liquids at industrial and commercial properties, in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. The Pipefitter provides leadership and support to apprentice ensuring accurate training for the completion task. Additionally, this position is responsible to promote a high level of customer satisfaction, in accordance with company beliefs, policies, procedures, objectives and applicable legislation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Read and interpret blueprint and construction plans for pipe systems, supports, and related equipment.
· Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, and fittings by means of bolt up, treading and gluing.
· Use hand or power tools to drill holes in structures such as wall, decks to allow for pipe passage.
· Utilize pressure gauges and hydrostatic testing to inspect and test installed pipe systems.
· Electroplate non-ferrous piping materials with tin and lead to obtain an alloy that prevents erosion.
· Operate pump machines to discard water from flooded facility floors and manholes.
· Inspect work sites to identify environmental hazards that can limit the integrity of a pipe structure.
· Utilize valve keys and wrenches to regulate liquids, steam and other gaseous substances from pipes.
· Oversee the repair and replacement of damaged or worn out pipe components.
· Select pipe types, sizes and quantity required for a pipefitting project.
· Install and configure automatic pipe control systems.
· Assist in training, directing & supervision apprentices, inspecting and certifying their work.
· Ensures accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects.
· Keep detailed and accurate documentation of completed work.
· Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology, compliance and repair techniques
· Carry out task safely, ensuring a safe work environment that exceeds an acceptable Health and Safety Standard.
· Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
· Journeyman Steamfitter-Pipefitter Certification or Actively enrolled in Provincial Steamfitter-Pipefitter Program
· Sound analytical thinking, problem solving, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
· Ability to multi-task, effectively manage time and adapt to work in a fast-paced environment.
· Self-motivated with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
· Ability to efficiently coordinate workings with internal and external workers of the company.
· Able to work individually and as a team member.
Working Conditions:
· Shop/Field environment, traveling to multiple site locations, potentially requiring work on evenings and weekends. Trained, as necessary, in required safety protocols.
