Our small-volume, high-quality specialty practice is seeking an experienced Dental Receptionist to be the primary point of contact for our patients and referring dental offices. We are committed to providing exceptional patient care and creating a warm, welcoming and professional experience for everyone who walks through our doors. The successful candidate will take ownership of the patient experience and practice administration, ensuring smooth patient flow, strong organization and productivity, while building positive relationships with patients and referring dentists and managing day-to-day responsibilities with confidence, initiative and attention to detail.
Compensation
$27–$38/hour, negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Please refer to ODA and ODAA wage report for references.

Monday–Friday | 9:00 a.m.– 6:00 p.m or close
40 hours per week | No weekends
Requirements
- 3-5 + years of experience as a Senior Dental Receptionist, Treatment Coordinator or Certified Dental Assistant/Receptionist (preferred)
- Live within an nearby commute
- Previous Endodontic experience preferred, but not required
- 2 References from dentists or specialists you have previously worked with
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to look at radiographs and generate estimates and insurance claims
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, procedures and office protocols
- Strong knowledge of CDCP, dental insurance and insurance submissions
- Excellent computer skills and comfortable working with dental software
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and spreadsheets
- Able to type quickly and accurately touch typing preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization and follow-through
- Strong time-management and multitasking abilities
- Able to work independently and exercise sound judgment
- Professional telephone, email and written communication skills
- Warm, polished, and confident patient communication
- Discreet and professional when handling confidential information
- CPR, WHMIS up-to-date upon hire
Key Responsibilities:
Patient & Treatment Coordination
- Provide a professional and personalized patient experience
- Coordinate appointments and treatment
- Assist with treatment follow-up and patient communications
- Prepare post-operative letters and correspondence
- Communicate clearly with patients regarding appointments, treatment and financial matters
Referring Dentist Relations
- Maintain professional relationships with referring dentists and their teams
- Communicate with referring offices regarding patients and treatment
- Prepare referral correspondence, mailers and follow-up communications
- Support outreach to existing and prospective referring offices
- Contribute to expanding and strengthening the practice’s referral network
Insurance & Administration
- Process and follow up on dental insurance claims and submissions
- Manage CDCP and private insurance inquiries
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
- Scan, organize and electronically file documents
- Prepare spreadsheets, correspondence and administrative reports
- Manage office inventory and supplies
Office Operations
- Oversee day-to-day front-office operations
- Maintain an exceptionally organized, clean and professional reception area
- Manage emails and practice communications
- Assist with social media and practice marketing initiatives
- Assist with sterilization and set up when required
- Perform light front-office cleaning and organization as needed
- Anticipate administrative needs and take initiative without constant direction
