Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Concrete Finisher to join our commercial construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for placing, leveling, finishing, and repairing concrete surfaces on commercial construction projects. This role requires attention to detail, knowledge of concrete finishing techniques, and a commitment to producing high-quality work while maintaining safety standards on site.
Duties
* Place, level, screed, and finish concrete surfaces including floors, slabs, sidewalks, curbs, and structural elements.
* Operate hand tools and power tools such as trowels, floats, screeds, grinders, and concrete finishing equipment.
* Apply surface treatments, sealers, and curing compounds as required.
* Perform grinding, patching, and repair work on existing concrete surfaces.
* Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
* Assist with formwork preparation, concrete placement, and site preparation activities.
* Monitor concrete curing and finishing processes to ensure quality and durability.
* Conduct quality inspections to ensure finished work meets project specifications and industry standards.
* Follow all company safety policies and site-specific safety requirements.
* Maintain a clean and organized work area and assist with general site duties as needed.
* Collaborate with supervisors and other trades to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
Experience & Qualifications
* Previous experience as a Concrete Finisher in commercial construction.
* Strong knowledge of concrete placement, finishing, curing, and repair techniques.
* Experience operating concrete finishing tools and equipment.
* Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
* Knowledge of commercial construction practices and safety regulations.
* Experience with power trowels, concrete grinders, and laser screeds is considered an asset.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment.
* Valid fall protection, WHMIS, and other construction safety certifications are considered assets.
* Reliable transportation and ability to travel to various project sites.
Physical Requirements
* Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
* Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
* Comfortable working on construction sites and around heavy equipment.
* Ability to perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday.
Pay: From $30.00 per hour
