Red Spade Ent. Ltd. is looking for enthusiastic and hard working individuals for deck hauling and lowbedding. Must be neat in appearance and have a positive personality as this is a customer facing position.
Duties
- Operate commercial vehicles to transport goods to various locations in a timely manner
- Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries
- Conduct routine inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations
- Assist with warehouse duties, general maintenance, and minor repairs as needed
- Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations while on the road
- Follow specific directions, especially related to oversize permits and routing
- Deliver freight on flatdeck, stepdeck, and lowbed trailers, depending on business needs
- Be on the road for up to 2 weeks at a time
Qualifications
- Hold a valid Class 1 licence
- Possess a clean commercial driving abstract - no driving-related criminal code convictions in the last 36 months, and no more than 3 moving violations in the last 36 months
- Be able to provide accident history in the last 5 years
- 3 years of verifiable mountain driving experience
- Verifiable experience with flatdeck, oversized loads, and equipment hauling
- Ability to lift/push/pull heavy weight without issues
- Be on time and reliable
- Ability to work on your own with limited supervision
- Ability to work long hours
- Ability to self-load equipment onto trailers
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening (including marijuana)
- Knowledge of National Safety Code Cargo Securement Standard 10 considered an asset
- Proficiency in English (spoken, reading, and writing)
Wage to be negotiated, dependent on experience.
This position will also require a data plan to keep in contact with our dispatcher.
All of our trucks utilize two-way dash cameras and GPS tracking. We also use electronic logbook devices (ELD’s). We are a fully compliant company.
