Qualifications
- Experience in retirement living is an asset.
- Previous housekeeping experience is required.
- Good understanding of chemical and equipment use.
- Ability to work independently or as a team.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to effectively communicate with residents and staff.
- Ability to read/write and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
- High standard of hygiene/cleanliness; empathy for seniors.
- Effective interpersonal and conflict resolution skills; ability to work under time constraints
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for clients and staff. This role offers an opportunity to work in a professional setting with a focus on high standards of cleanliness and customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Perform general cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming of assigned areas
- Clean and sanitize suite, restrooms, kitchenettes, and common areas to meet health and safety standards
- Change linens, empty trash receptacles, and restock supplies as needed
- Use custodial equipment and cleaning products safely and effectively
- Follow established cleaning procedures to ensure consistency and quality
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
Experience
- Prior custodial or cleaning experience is preferred, especially in commercial cleaning environments
- Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment is advantageous
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to safety protocols
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are essential for maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Experience in commercial cleaning settings is considered a plus
