Under the supervision of the Coordinator, Records and Information Management, the Records/Scan Clerk maintains and controls the Plan Member filing system for the Winnnipeg Employee Benefits Program. This position retrieves files or items as requested on a priority basis and performs other duties relating to the provision of filing services for the Employee Benefits Program staff, including the electronic filing (scanning) of all office documents.
As the Records/Scan Clerk you will:
- Maintain and control the Plan Member filing system (both paper and electronic)
- Scan all Program documents to capture all information and verify for accuracy
- Prepare documents for storage or archiving
- Provide search and retrieval of microfilm and microfiche documents, and purge inactive member files for microfilming
- Perform other duties as assigned, including simple benefit calculations
Your education and qualifications include:
- High school graduation or equivalent combination of training and experience;
- Experience in Records and Information Management and a Basic Level certificate in Records and Information Management would be an asset;
- Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer, microfilm reader/printer and utilize word processing software such as Word (Basic), Excel (Basic), Outlook, and the Internet;
- Demonstrated initiative in exercising sound judgment and reacting resourcefully under varying conditions of flex loads and changing priorities including the ability to deal with confidential matters discreetly and logically;
- Demonstrated ability to organize and maintain a system of records and must be physically fit to perform the functions of the position including the moving of heavy boxes.
