Mandate:
The Contracts & Permits Coordinator (CPC) plays a central role in coordinating, drafting, and advancing Ocean Networks Canada's (ONC's) agreements through the contracting lifecycle, from initiation through readiness for legal and risk review. Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer (CFO), this role works closely with internal teams to understand business needs, select appropriate agreement structures, prepare and customize contract templates, track approvals, and ensure alignment with organizational policy and established risk parameters.
The CPC is not responsible for providing legal advice or final contract negotiation authority, but ensures that agreements are complete, accurate, policy aligned and efficiently prepared so that legal and risk review can focus on substantive issues rather than administrative or structural gaps.
In addition, the role is responsible for coordinating and administering permits, licenses and related authorizations that are required to support the agreements being developed, ensuring they are identified, tracked and in place prior to execution. This role does not provide legal or regulatory interpretation but is responsible for the coordination and tracking of permits, licenses and related authorizations.
Objectives:
- Support ONCs operational effectiveness by managing end-to-end administrative and drafting components of the contracting process.
- Ensure all agreements are prepared in alignment with ONC policies, and standard terms.
- Improve contract cycle times, transparency and tracking through standardized processes and tools.
- Ensure that all permits, licenses, and related approvals required to support ONC agreements are identified, coordinated, tracked and aligned with contract timelines.
