Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Painter/Prepper to organize, stage, and prepare product for paint according to production schedule.
Duties
- Review paint schedule, prepare and stage product according to work order priority.
- Pull paint related work orders to correctly prep required areas.
- Liaison with painters, and supervisor to ensure scheduling accuracy.
- Inspect product prior to painting, ensure quality of product prior to painting.
- Check and inspect paint carts prior to loading product for safe operation.
- Perform pre-use inspections on all required equipment and machinery.
- Operate various hand tools including blenders, and other applicable hand tools. Wear the required respirator, or other protective equipment required.
- Assist painters to load products into paint booth for paint application.
- Assists in other areas of production as assigned.
- Maintains good housekeeping practice in work area.
- Completes all required production sheets, time sheets and any other paperwork deemed necessary to complete.
- Adheres to all quality assurance standards.
- Always ensure a clean and safe work environment. Cooperates with the Joint Health and Safety Committee and adheres to all plant safety rules and policies. Wear all the required personal protective equipment when on the plant floor.
- Assist with training of new and existing employees
- Other duties as required.
- Qualifications
- Proficiency with hand tools such as sanders, grinders, and scrapers
- Experience using power tools safely and effectively in a workshop setting
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
- Experience with industrial painting
- Clean shaven to wear respirator
