We are currently seeking a skilled Site Electrician to support our Fort Saskatchewan team. Under the direction of the Terminal Manager and is responsible for the safe day to day operations and maintenance of the Heartland Facility. The Site Electrician will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of existing electrical and instrumentation systems at the terminal. The role will also involve installation of new electrical equipment as required, purchase of electrical supplies and equipment, and execution of an electrical preventive maintenance program. This position requires a strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and equipment as well as industry standard safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and industry best electrical practices.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain a valid electrical license for the Province of Alberta to be able to legally and competently work on electrical equipment at an industrial facility.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure the proper functioning of electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues as they arise.
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems to minimize downtime.
- Install and maintain electrical equipment as required (i.e. instruments, motors, junction boxes, cabling, etc.)
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure the smooth operation of the plant.
- Communicate with HSLP management regarding plant electrical operations including, but not limited to:
- Status of terminal electrical equipment
- Critical electrical equipment status
- Risks to plant operations
- Planned outages
- Operational needs including any requests for support, materials, or direction.
- Adhere to site HSE policies.
- Proactively investigate opportunities to optimize the terminal electrical infrastructure.
- Provide support as requested for other terminal infrastructure including but not limited to IT infrastructure, mechanical infrastructure, heavy equipment, and other areas as required by management.
- Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation systems.
- Serve as primary contact for vendors servicing the PLC system.
- Serve as subject matter expert for all electrical systems and code requirements related to electrical infrastructure.
- Participate in on call program for electrical infrastructure repair, emergency service, and diagnosis when required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Journeyman or Master certification required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical maintenance at industrial facilities.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with PLCs and control systems is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and safety-conscious attitude.
- Experience working with electrical motors is an asset.
- Millwright experience is considered an asset.
