We are currently seeking an experienced Grader Operator to join our diverse and dynamic team. Key Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Operate equipment based on manufacturer recommendations.
- Keep equipment and trucks clean and free of dirt and debris.
- Collect parts, oils, and fuel as required.
- Change engine oil, fuel filters, and air filters as directed by your supervisor.
- Maintain all equipment fluids within manufacturer specifications.
- Always wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on-site (hard hat, ear protection, safety boots, gloves, eye protection, high visibility vest).
- Grease the grader according to manufacturer recommendations.
- Perform small repairs and maintenance (e.g., changing hoses, minor repairs) when practical and able.
- Follow supervisor instructions in accordance with the company safety manual and safe work practices.
- Provide a personal smartphone for access to our time and safety apps.
- Complete daily timesheets on the QuickBooks time app, including detailed notes on activities.
- Complete daily equipment/vehicle inspection forms on the SiteDocs app.
- Read and sign Job Safety Analysis and Safe Work Procedures regularly via the SiteDocs app or as directed.
Qualifications:
- At least 3+ years of experience grading rural gravel roads, with understanding of separating rock from fine material on roadways.
- Strong understanding of heavy equipment systems and mechanics.
- Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail and a team-focused attitude.
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Additional Requirements:
- Reside in the Cariboo area or own an RV trailer that can be moved to various job sites.
- Possess the necessary skills to excel in this role.
- Good communication skills.
- Phone to access SiteDocs (safety platform) and Workforce (payroll)
