Overview
We are looking for a Dispatcher/Customer Service Representative (CSR) with expertise in Western Canada and Cross-Border freight operations to join our growing team. This role is crucial for ensuring seamless communication, efficient logistics management, and superior customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with a strong background in dispatching and customer service within the transportation industry.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and dispatch cross-border shipments, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries.
- Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to monitor, track, and document shipments accurately.
- Collaborate with 3PL providers, drivers, and internal operations teams to resolve delivery delays, route issues, and other logistical challenges.
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries via phone and email.
- Maintain and update shipment data, ensuring accuracy in all customer records and operational systems.
- Analyze client needs and provide tailored solutions for freight logistics to improve overall service efficiency.
- Manage cross-border documentation to ensure compliance with transportation regulations.
- Resolve customer complaints or escalations effectively while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to optimize routes, reduce costs, and improve delivery performance.
Experience
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in Dispatching or Customer Service roles within the transportation and logistics industry.
- Solid understanding of Western Canada and Cross-Border freight operations.
- Proficiency in using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to monitor and manage shipments.
- Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with strong phone and email etiquette.
- High attention to detail and proficiency in data entry.
- Experience with SyteLine software or similar systems is a strong asset.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience is required.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
