Main Job Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities
- Use specialized software to create models and drawings of products
- Research new materials and methods of development
- Organize and maintain existing engineering records
- Construct prototypes and confirm designs
- Perform physical testing on engineering prototypes
- Ensure components and assemblies adhere to applicable industry and business standards
- Draft and design grills and associated products in SolidWorks
- Collaborate work in coordination with Engineering to transform concepts and "napkin sketch" ideas into 2D
- Assist engineers throughout the design phase; initial concepts, concept revisions, commercialized designs, and revisions to commercialized designs
- Works directly with manufacturing concerns, ensuring continuous product and process improvements
- Performs checks based on standard drafting practices, customer requirements, and Engineering Guidelines
- Keep Management advised of work status, workload, problems, and progress as related to work assignments
- Schedules and meets commitments, tracks drawing completion, and manages workload efficiently
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned
