CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

Canadian Niagara Power Inc. (CNPI), located in beautiful Fort Erie, is looking for a motivated self-starter, who has a positive attitude, and a desire to provide great customer service. The successful candidate will have the ability to effectively deal with people in a professional manner, while complying with Company policies and procedures with respect to relevant legislation and regulations regarding the Electric Industry.
Key functions of the role:

Provide customer service to the public over the phone and various e-technology methods regarding billing inquiries, payment arrangements and other customer service-related questions.

Accounts Receivable functions including the processing of customer accounts, balancing of various posting lots, cash tills, the preparation of bank deposits and daily balance sheets for Finance.

Process incoming requests for Pre-Authorized Payments.

Accurately apply incoming customer payments to appropriate SAP customer accounts and monitor automated pre-authorized payments and electronic bank payments.

Process customer requests for moving.

Other duties as required.
What makes you a successful candidate?

Post-Secondary education in Business Administration or in a related discipline from an accredited educational institution.

At least three (3) years’ experience multi-tasking in a customer service-related position.

Proven ability to work well and cooperatively in a team environment.

High level of professionalism and confidentiality
-
Exceptional computer skills - SAP knowledge is considered an asset.

Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications.

Financial understanding of Accounts Receivable.

Ability to take initiative and work pro-actively with minimal supervision.
-
Ability to troubleshoot problems while remaining level-headed.
-
Must hold and maintain a valid Ontario class “G” driver’s license with a clean driving abstract.

Preference will be given to candidates with an understanding of the electrical utility industry.
