Victoria Pulse Trading Corp. (VPTC) is a pulse processing and export company headquartered in Vancouver, BC, with a processing facility in Francis, Saskatchewan. We purchase, process, and export lentils, peas, canary seed, and flaxseed to international B2B buyers across Asia, the Middle East, and beyond. As our business grows, we are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support our finance function.
Role Overview
The Bookkeeper will manage the day-to-day financial records of the company, with a primary focus on accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general bookkeeping. This role works closely with the operations and logistics teams and reports directly to company leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, payment tracking, and follow-up on outstanding balances
- Process accounts payable, including vendor invoices, purchase orders, and payment scheduling
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and intercompany transactions on a regular basis
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger entries
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare basic financial reports and summaries for management review
- Support external accountants during audit or tax preparation periods
- Manage filing and organization of financial documents, both digital and physical
- Assist with GST/HST remittances and other regulatory filings as required
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in a small to mid-sized business environment
- Strong knowledge of accounts receivable and accounts payable processes
- Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar)
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Clear and professional communication skills
- Experience in a trading, export, or commodity-based business is an asset
Pay: $18.00-$23.00 per hour
