The Opportunity
Employer: Unico Power Corporation
Location: Preference for Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, or Montreal — exceptional candidates in any major Canadian city considered
Workplace: Remote or Onsite (Calgary) with regular travel required
Salary: $125,000–$140,000 base + commission + equity
This is a rare chance to join a profitable, growing Canadian clean tech company at a pivotal moment. As VP Sales you will be the commercial engine of Unico Power — personally closing deals, developing new sales channels, and leading a small team of sales and marketing professionals.
You don't need to know the EV charging industry. We'll bring the market knowledge, the customer relationships, and the product expertise. You bring the sales firepower.
Responsibilities
- Personally prospect, develop, and close new commercial and residential EV charging and energy management contracts across Canada
- Identify and develop new sales channels — we want creative thinking, not just execution of an existing playbook
- Lead and develop a small sales and marketing team including account management and junior sales staff
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through to signed contract and successful handoff to operations
- Build and maintain relationships with real estate developers, property managers, strata councils, electrical contractors, and other key stakeholders
- Own and manage the sales pipeline, forecasting, and reporting using HubSpot CRM
- Collaborate directly with the CEO on sales strategy, pricing, and market expansion
- Lead Unico Power's CFR Reinvestment Program — identifying and negotiating subsidized EV charging deployments at qualifying buildings as part of Canada's Clean Fuel Regulations reinvestment framework
- Represent Unico Power at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings across Canada
What We're Looking For
We care far more about your track record than your resume. Specifically:
- Proven track record closing complex B2B sales — you can show us the numbers and tell us the stories
- Experience building or growing a sales territory from scratch — you know what it means to hunt, not just farm
- Experience selling into property management, real estate development, construction, or similar stakeholder-driven industries — an asset but not required
- Proficiency with HubSpot CRM or similar sales platforms — required
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset — you thrive with autonomy and hate being micromanaged
- Excellent communicator — you can walk into a room of condo board members or a developer's boardroom and command respect
- Post-secondary education in business, commerce, or a related field — preferred but we'll trade it for an exceptional track record
Compensation & Growth
- Base salary: $125,000–$140,000
- Commission: Performance-based, structured to reward closers — significant upside for strong performers
