Quality Control Supervisor – Evans Facility
Brunswick Bierworks is a leading Canadian brewery and premium beverage manufacturing partner focused on innovation, quality, and excellence in execution.
We are looking for an experienced Quality Supervisor to join our new Evans manufacturing facility and lead the day-to-day Quality Control and Laboratory operation.
Reporting to the Quality Manager, this is an opportunity to join a new, highly automated beverage facility from start-up, develop a strong Quality team, and help establish the day-to-day standards and routines that will support safe, consistent, high-quality production as Evans ramps up.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead daily Quality Control and Laboratory operations across all shifts, ensuring effective coverage and consistent execution of quality and food safety requirements.
· Supervise, coach, train, and develop QC and Laboratory Technicians, building strong technical capability and accountability within the team.
· Support commissioning, validation, start-up, and production ramp-up activities from a Quality and Food Safety perspective.
· Review production records, analytical results, sensory evaluations, deviations, COAs, and release documentation, and manage product hold and release activities in accordance with established procedures.
· Lead investigations into non-conformances, customer complaints, and quality incidents, including root cause analysis and CAPA implementation.
· Oversee analytical, microbiological, environmental monitoring, and sensory programs, including testing methods, equipment calibration, verification, and records.
· Verify sanitation, allergen, traceability, GMP, and food safety programs through routine inspections and verification activities, and support customer, certification, and regulatory audits.
· Work closely with Blending, Packaging, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Operations to resolve quality issues, support production, and reduce recurring quality losses.
· Monitor Quality KPIs, identify trends and improvement opportunities, and escalate significant or recurring issues to the Quality Manager.
· Ensure compliance with HACCP, PCP, SFCR, CFIA, FSSC 22000, customer requirements, and company standards.
What We're Looking For
· Degree or diploma in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
· 3–5 years of Quality Control experience in food or beverage manufacturing, with previous supervisory or leadership experience.
· Experience working in both laboratory and manufacturing environments.
· Strong knowledge of food safety, quality systems, product hold/release controls, CAPA, traceability, and regulatory requirements.
· Experience with microbiological and analytical testing, environmental monitoring, sanitation verification, and laboratory controls.
· Strong leadership, coaching, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
· Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively across departments while maintaining Quality and Food Safety requirements.
Preferred Experience
· Beverage, RTD, food, or other liquid-processing manufacturing.
· High-speed or highly automated beverage manufacturing.
· Quality support during commissioning, validation, start-up, or production ramp-up.
· Beverage sensory and analytical testing programs.
About the Evans Facility
The Evans facility represents the next stage of Brunswick Bierworks’ growth and is being built as a modern, highly automated beverage manufacturing operation featuring new Krones automated batching and blending systems integrated with our 96,000 cans-per-hour Krones packaging line.
The Quality Supervisor will join Evans during start-up, develop the QC and Laboratory team, and help establish strong day-to-day Quality and Food Safety execution as production ramps up.
This is an opportunity to work with new manufacturing technology, develop a strong technical team, and play a key role in ensuring Evans consistently delivers safe, compliant, high-quality products for our customers.
