Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional front desk support, manage electronic medical records, and ensure smooth daily operations within a busy medical office. This role offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, utilizing your administrative skills and healthcare knowledge to contribute to patient care and office efficiency. Prior experience with medical office systems and private billing are highly valued, and familiarity with Telus CHR is preferred.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner at the front desk
- Manage multi-line phone systems, schedule appointments, and handle patient inquiries
- Verify patient information and update electronic medical records accurately
- Assist with check-in and check-out procedures, including insurance verification and billing processes
- Maintain organized patient files and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to facilitate smooth clinic operations
- Handle administrative tasks such as data entry, faxing, mailing, and managing office supplies
- Support clinical staff with basic administrative duties as needed
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Medical Office Assistant requires
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and other basic computer programs
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare documentation standards
- Office experience with front desk responsibilities and multi-line phone systems
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and providers
- Experience working in a fast-paced healthcare environment is a plus
- Medical administration certificate is required

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
