As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will help answer some of Acute Care Alberta’s (ACA) most important questions: What resources will be needed in the years ahead? Reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning, the Senior Financial Analyst plays a key role in ensuring that Acute Care Alberta’s budget-related information is reliable, complete, and accurate. Responsibilities include supporting the development of multi-year budget and forecast scenarios for submission to Hospital and Surgical Health Services, including analyzing financial implications. Assessing the impact of planning decisions, maintaining budget and forecast processes, developing reporting, and providing financial advice to key stakeholders. Assist in the preparation of the budgeted financial statements and reporting of results to Finance senior leadership and executives. Provide oversight and guidance on system budget loads to finance partners as well as monitor and report on global functional centres. Assist in responding to ad-hoc requests and special projects as needed. The role requires strong analytical and relationship-building skills as well as a broad understanding of financial planning and budgeting.

Required Qualifications:
A post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline. At least 3 years of experience in financial planning, budgeting or a financial advisory role.
Additional Required Qualifications:
The ability to establish strong relationships with internal and external partners by building trust and working collaboratively with others. Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically and solve problems with minimum supervision. Demonstrated ability to work comfortably in an ambiguous environment, including having strong time management and organizational skills. The ability to build complex financial models in Excel and automate them to increase efficiency.
Preferred Qualifications:
Pursuing or completion of a professional accounting designation (CPA). Experience working with Hyperion and Oracle GL or similar systems. Experience in an organization of similar size and complexity. Experience in a healthcare environment.
