Lawn Care & Snow Removal Crew Leader
Overview
Robertson Landscapes is looking for a reliable, hardworking, and experienced Crew Leader to join our growing team.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in producing high-quality work, and is comfortable leading a small crew. Our services operate throughout the seasons and include lawn maintenance, spring and fall cleanups, garden work, patio installations, landscaping projects, and snow removal during the winter.
We are looking for someone interested in becoming a long-term member of our team, taking on responsibility, and growing alongside the company. The ideal candidate is dependable, motivated, physically capable, and confident operating professional equipment and driving a company vehicle with a trailer.
Responsibilities
- Lead and work alongside a small lawn care and landscaping crew
- Complete routine lawn maintenance, including mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing
- Assist with spring and fall property cleanups
- Complete garden maintenance, including weeding, pruning, edging, planting, and mulching
- Assist with patio installations and other landscaping projects
- Organize daily routes and communicate job expectations to crew members
- Inspect completed work to ensure every property meets company standards
- Drive company vehicles and trailers safely between job sites
- Load, secure, transport, and unload equipment and materials
- Operate commercial mowers, string trimmers, blowers, snow blowers, salters, and other equipment
- Keep company vehicles, trailers, equipment, and work areas clean and organized
- Perform basic equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns
- Communicate professionally with clients, crew members, and supervisors
- Follow company safety procedures at all times
Winter Responsibilities
During the winter season, this role transitions into supporting and leading snow removal operations.
Responsibilities include:
- Clearing residential and commercial driveways, walkways, entrances, and designated areas
- Operating snow blowers, shovels, salters, and other winter equipment
- Applying salt and de-icing products when required
- Driving company vehicles with trailers in winter conditions
- Ensuring properties are completed safely, thoroughly, and efficiently
- Being available during snow events, including early mornings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays
Qualifications
- Previous lawn care, landscaping, snow removal, property maintenance, or construction experience is required
- Previous crew leadership or job-site management experience is strongly preferred
- Valid Ontario G driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- Comfortable and experienced driving with a trailer
- Experience operating lawn care, landscaping, and snow removal equipment
- Strong work ethic and ability to perform physical labour outdoors
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Ability to lead, motivate, and work alongside a small crew
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
- Professional attitude and good communication skills
- Comfortable working in varying weather conditions and irregular hours during snow events
