At Canaway Global Learning, our mission is to deliver high-quality online education to students around the world. We are launching our online Visual Arts program and are seeking a passionate and experienced Online Visual Arts Teacher to join our international team.
Initial Teaching Commitment
This position will begin as a flexible, low-hour teaching assignment with a very small number of students. It is ideal for an educator seeking supplemental contract work who is also interested in helping establish and grow a new Visual Arts program.
As enrollment increases and additional cohorts are formed, more teaching hours may become available. The selected teacher may also have opportunities to contribute feedback on course delivery and help shape the program during its early stages. Future hours will depend on student enrollment and are not guaranteed.
Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified educator to teach AVI3M (Grade 11 Visual Arts) and/or AVI4M (Grade 12 Visual Arts) in accordance with the Ontario Secondary School Curriculum. This is a fully remote, part-time contract position with a limited initial teaching schedule and the potential for additional hours as the program grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach AVI3M and/or AVI4M in a virtual classroom.
- Plan and deliver engaging, interactive online lessons.
- Encourage creativity, critical thinking, and student participation.
- Assess assignments, projects, and exams, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and student records.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents (when required), and the academic team.
- Participate in staff meetings and collaborate with colleagues to support student success.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Education, Fine Arts, Visual Arts, or a related field.
- Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) in good standing (preferred).
- Qualification to teach Visual Arts at the secondary level.
- Experience teaching the Ontario Secondary School Curriculum is an asset.
- Previous online teaching experience is preferred.
- Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written).
- Strong organizational, classroom management, and technology skills.
- Reliable computer, webcam, headset, and high-speed internet connection.
