The Intermediate CNC 5 Axis Machinist - Afternoon Shift operates numerical control machines and machining centers to fabricate parts per engineering specifications without supervision. The Intermediate Machinist receives on-the-job training to set up jobs with supervision.
1- Job Related Duties & Responsibilities
- Follow quality management system policies and procedures as per AS 9100 International Standard
- 5 Axis CNC expertise for optimized machining with high accuracy tool build process for tools, fixtures and gage designs.
- Participate to create new, maintain MP Tool CNC and EDM processing standards.
- Demonstrate ability to set-up, run, and dimensionally maintain quality in a production environment
- Good Inspection Skills and Blueprint reading skills with ability to use all shop inspection tools
- Basic Troubleshooting skills
- Ability to recognize production problems such as out-of-tolerance Machining, poor finishes, damaged or worn cutters, and tooling
- Versatility across multiple machine centers is a plus
- Meets job standard times with minimal supervision
- Follows all safety guidelines established by the Company, including proper use of safety equipment and relevant safety procedures
- Completes additional duties and projects as assigned.
- Maintain finishes as required on blueprint
- Follow applicable work instructions and maintain appropriate records.
- Maintain work area clean and organized, follow health and safety rules at Coordinate Industries Ltd.
2- Training, Experience, Education and Skill Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Degree or diploma from College or vocational school in CNC machining is strongly desired and most preferred.
- 5 years plus experience running a CNC mill or recent Machinist Tech Training Certificate
- Proven ability to consistently run good parts that meet production standards
- Strong skills and aptitude in math
- Ability to perform basic functions with MS Windows-based computer operating systems
- Completion of Machine Proficiency test during interview process
- Highly organized with a keen eye for details,
- Able to self-organize and follow instructions independently,
- Able to read and interpret part drawings, specifications and requirements,
- Able to read, speak, write and understand English,
- Ability to work with small pieces (Hand dexterity)
- Positive attitude and reliable
- Properly uses measuring tools and set up tools such as edge finder, indicator, micrometers, etc.
