The YMCA of Lethbridge opened its doors in 1905 and since then we have evolved into a vibrant charitable organization where thousands of children, youth and adults access our programs and facilities as a regular part of their efforts to become healthier and connected to family and community. YMCA Lethbridge has expanded our scope and opened a brand-new state of the art recreation facility in Lethbridge, named the Cor Van Raay YMCA at ATB Center. The facility is 256,000 sq ft and will become a bustling neighbourhood hub for both the City of Lethbridge and surrounding communities. To support the facility needs, programs and leisure opportunities. 250 staff and 100+ volunteers will be needed to support the facility operations.

The facility includes a variety of amenities such as:
- 50,000 ft2 aquatics centre with 6 lane lap pool, disturbed water pool, surf rider, 40-person hot tub, lazy river, water slides, aquatic rock climbing wall and training pool
- Fieldhouse with a total of 6 full sized gymnasiums
- 30,000 ft2 fitness centre with 3 studio spaces
- 4 lane running track
- 8 multipurpose/meeting rooms
- Licensed childcare centre
- Indoor play area, childminding and youth rooms
- Leased café space, wellness clinic and retail spaces

Nature & Scope
Reporting to the Membership Supervisor, the Membership Team Lead will be responsible for supporting the day to day operations of the membership services department. The Membership Team Lead is the first to greet users as they enter the facility and will ensure that all patrons are welcomed with a positive experience. Major responsibilities of this position are, but not limited to:
- Supporting the Membership Manager and Supervisor with the successful opening the Cor Van Raay YMCA at ATB Centre in Spring 2019
- Committing to exceptional quality sales and services strategies through excellent customer service and timely responses to all member and facility users, while communicating forward any unresolved concerns from patrons to management
- Acting as a shift lead by role modelling excellent YMCA service practices and mentoring other membership staff and volunteers
- Performing member relations duties including answering membership questions, handling complaints and inquiries, processing new memberships and monthly fee payments
- Performing computer data entry (inputting registrations, processing new members, updating memberships, sending out renewal emails, making phone calls to members, etc.)
- Being responsible for opening/and or closing the membership services desk and performing daily shift cash-outs
- Supporting membership growth and retention through activities to achieve strategic goals and targets (monthly/annually)
- Ensuring a flexible work schedule, with some daytime, evening and weekend support
- Additional administrative duties as assigned by the Membership Supervisor

Qualifications and Experience
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in recreation, sport management, business or equivalent is an asset
- 2-3 years of experience in a customer service and sales related industry
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including intermediate use of technology
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certifications
- Evidence of a clear Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Intervention Check
- Three professional references required
