Beacon Pet Hospital is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team.
This role is well suited to someone with strong hands-on veterinary hospital experience who is confident supporting veterinarians with patient care, diagnostics, surgical procedures, dentistry, anesthesia monitoring, laboratory procedures, client communication, and daily hospital flow.
The successful candidate must have previous experience in a veterinary hospital setting and be comfortable working under veterinary direction in a busy clinical environment. This position requires strong attention to detail, safe patient handling, accurate medical record keeping, dependability, and the ability to work collaboratively with veterinarians, reception, assistants, and other team members.

Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, procedures, and patient care
- Support patient preparation, handling, monitoring, and recovery under veterinary direction
- Collect, prepare, and process laboratory samples, including blood, urine, fecal, cytology, and other diagnostic samples
- Perform in-house diagnostic testing using laboratory equipment with accuracy and attention to detail
- Assist with radiology, surgery, dentistry, anesthesia, and treatment-area workflow
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Monitor patients during procedures, treatments, anesthesia, and recovery periods
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
- Communicate with clients regarding patient care, treatment plans, medication instructions, and follow-up recommendations
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper sterilization of treatment areas, surgical instruments, and equipment
- Work collaboratively with veterinarians, technicians, reception, assistants, and other team members
- Contribute to a positive, respectful, and supportive hospital environment
Qualifications
- Previous hands-on experience working in a veterinary hospital setting is required
- Experience with surgery, anesthesia, dentistry support is required
- Experience with laboratory procedures and in-house diagnostics is required
- Strong technical skills and confidence supporting patient care in a clinical setting
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Compassionate and professional approach with clients, patients, and team members
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and accurate medical record keeping
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy veterinary environment
- Comfortable using computers, electronic medical records, and veterinary software
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Equivalent education, training, or experience will be considered
Compensation
Wage: $26.00–$36.00 per hour, based on experience, training, and qualifications.
