The Sr Solution Architect is responsible for the design of solutions centred around SAP Hybris commerce platform. The Sr Solution Architect must possess a balanced mix of technical and business skills, as you will often work with business and technical leaders in the organization. This role requires leadership and involvement in all stages of the SDLC, from the conceptual architecture creation to the solution development and definition, and even more specific areas depending on skills and interests. The Sr Solution Architect will lead an experienced technical / development team and is highly self-starting, works autonomously, is responsible and dynamic, and is ambitious and passionate about technology.
Duties or Responsibilities:
Coordinate/oversee all technical activities during each phase of a project, release management and operational support
Evolve the architectural view of the solution from top to bottom, while detailing each level of the architecture to ensure that Performance is optimal and never compromised
Propose and document the most appropriate technical solutions accordingly
Define in detail the technical design of the system (components, integration, servers, security, performance, etc.)
Describe the abstract functionalities (classes, methods, properties)
Configure, develop, implement and maintain the proposed architectures as necessary for the implementation of the project, release management and operational support
Support a team of technical professionals directly across backend, frontend and DevOps as well as 3rd party vendors
Provide support and mentoring to developers, performing technical reviews and hands-on development as required
Propose and implement industry best practices in software development
Support the full life cycle of solutions through development, staging, pre-production, stress, and production environments
Skills and Abilities:
Minimum 5 years of experience in design and architecture of N-tier systems
Minimum 7 years of experience in an Internet / ecommerce development environment
Minimum 3 to 5 years experience with the following technologies- Java/J2EE, SAP HYBRIS / ATG Commerce or other SPRING commerce frameworks, XML/XSL, PCI
Excellence in communication, written and verbal, to upper management and front line team alike
Experience building an ecommerce IT function within a larger retailer or with a professional services consulting firm
Strong analytical, problem solving capabilities, organizational and project management skills.
Design and development experience ideally in XML / XSL, CSS and HTML5
Testing Automation Tools -Selenium or similar
4 Year college or university degree or equivalent
BA Computer Science as well as Industry Certifications in multiple technology platforms, such as: SAP Hybris, Sun Java Certification and DB Certifications
