Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. The ideal candidate will have a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for seniors and individuals with disabilities through personalized support and caregiving. Duties
- Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment
- Support with medication administration following prescribed protocols and safety guidelines
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and maintaining a safe, hygienic environment
- Assist with mobility and transfers using proper techniques to ensure safety for clients and caregivers
- Monitor clients’ health status, report changes or concerns to healthcare professionals or family members
- Support clients with recreational activities and social engagement to promote mental well-being
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care is preferred
- Experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring dementia care is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols is a plus
- Compassionate nature with excellent caregiving skills and patience
- Ability to perform light cleaning and meal preparation efficiently
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Certification as a Personal Support Worker (PSW) or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory; relevant training will be provided if necessary
- Must be reliable, responsible, and committed to providing high-quality care
