Altum Health is a department within the University Health Network with over 300 employees across several sites (Toronto, Cambridge, Barrie, Hamilton, Oakville, Ajax, Mississauga, Vaughan, Brampton, Oshawa, and Scarborough). We offer a full continuum of prevention, rehabilitation, and health care services to third party payors and individuals, including the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB), employers, and insurers. As a member of People and Culture Team, the Talent Acquisition Specialist duties include:
Execute full-cycle recruitment activities for high-level positions and hard-to-fill positions (intake, sourcing, outreach, prescreen, interview booking, negotiation of offers, etc.). Develop recruitment plans by leveraging external communication channels, professional networks, social media, and candidate mining.
Build and foster relationships with internal and external candidates as part of ongoing efforts to ensure a positive candidate experience throughout candidate/employee career lifecycle
Confirms internal transfers, including: arranging written confirmation; notifying appropriate People and Culture personnel
Identify new sourcing strategies to build talent pool/network of key positions through anticipatory sourcing and selection.
Defines and executes innovative recruitment tactics using industry best practices to attract qualified candidates, both internally and externally.
Assist in maintaining talent pipelines for frequent ongoing demand for recruitment and hard-to-fill positions, with transferable qualifications across faculties and services, and develop candidate pipelines of prequalified talent in order to meet the demand to fill immediate talent needs.
Work with People and Culture Manager and business leaders to understand short-term and long-term recruitment needs and business requirements.
Provide other administrative and project support to the People Team on an ad hoc basis
Qualifications:
University degree or a Diploma in human resources management, business administration, communications, social sciences or equivalent combination of education and experience
Human resources designation (e.g. CHRP, CRHA) is an asset
Minimum of 7 years of related experience, ideally within a complex unionized environment
Experience in using HR and applicant tracking systems
Experience in analyzing and applying policies, procedures, regulations, and collective agreements
Knowledge of principles and best practices in diversity, inclusion and equity
Ability to build and foster productive relationships, and to influence positive outcomes
Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices
Ability to contribute to a team by adopting a results-oriented approach and by building and maintaining productive and trusting relationships
Demonstrated ability to provide sound advice and to influence managers on talent acquisition matters
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with the ability to propose creative solutions to complex issues
Strong communication and organizational skills
