Overview
We are looking for an organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to manage the purchasing and availability of materials required to support our operations.
This role is responsible for sourcing products, managing supplier relationships, monitoring inventory levels, negotiating pricing and terms, coordinating purchase orders, and ensuring materials are available when needed. The successful candidate will work closely with Operations, Warehouse, Accounting, and other internal teams to support efficient purchasing and inventory planning.
Responsibilities
- Source and purchase materials, equipment, and supplies required for ongoing operations
- Monitor inventory levels and identify upcoming purchasing requirements
- Forecast material needs based on operational demand and upcoming projects
- Obtain, review, and compare supplier quotes
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, and other purchasing conditions
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Identify alternative suppliers and products when availability, pricing, or lead times become an issue
- Prepare, issue, and track purchase orders
- Monitor outstanding orders, backorders, shipping status, and expected delivery dates
- Follow up with suppliers to resolve delays, shortages, damaged products, or incorrect shipments
- Coordinate with Warehouse and Operations to ensure materials are available when required
- Maintain accurate purchasing, inventory, supplier, and pricing records
- Review purchasing trends and identify opportunities for cost savings
- Assist with vendor performance reviews and supplier selection
- Verify quantities and purchasing documentation and assist with resolving discrepancies between purchase orders, received goods, and invoices
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels while minimizing excess or obsolete stock
- Support the development and improvement of procurement and inventory processes
- Communicate material shortages, supply-chain concerns, pricing changes, and other procurement risks to management
- Perform other related duties as required
Skills
- Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, inventory management, or a related role
- Experience sourcing products and working directly with suppliers
- Strong negotiation and vendor-management skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple orders and priorities at once
- Excellent attention to detail and follow-through
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
- Experience working with inventory, purchasing, ERP, or procurement software is considered an asset
- Experience in the electrical, solar, construction, trades, or related industry is considered an asset

Pay: $85,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
