Summary
As a Family and Youth Worker with Family Ties Association, you will play a key role in empowering children, youth, and families to overcome challenges and build essential life skills. This position is central to our mission of promoting resilience, well-being, and positive growth within the communities we serve.
Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate support and mentorship to children, youth, and families across a variety of settings.
- Promote the safety and well-being of children and youth through timely, flexible, and family-centered interventions.
- Strengthen family functioning by supporting positive relationships and healthy home environments.
- Foster personal growth and skill development, including problem-solving, communication, parenting, and coping strategies.
- Collaborate effectively with families, schools, and community partners to deliver coordinated services.
- Connect individuals and families with community resources and social supports to enhance overall well-being.
- Maintain accurate, detailed documentation of services, progress, and outcomes in alignment with reporting standards.
Requirements
- Minimum certificate, diploma or degree in a relevant Human Service field (i.e. Child and Youth Care, Criminal Justice, Rehabilitation Services, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, etc.)
- Valid driver’s license – must be non-GDL with 3 years insurance experience.
- Reliable personal vehicle and able to obtain a minimum of 2-million-dollar liability on car insurance
- Evening availability
- Understanding and respect for Indigenous cultures, traditions, and perspectives —along with a commitment to cultural awareness and inclusion will considered valuable assets for this position.
Successful candidate is required to submit a recent Criminal Record Check and Intervention Record Check.
