The Opportunity
We are currently looking to fill part-time permanent roles in the Winnipeg region. We are primarily looking for individuals who can commit to working Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays.
The successful candidate will provide individual and group support within home and community settings to adults with complex disabilities, which may include concurrent brain injuries and mental health disorders.
Candidates must have a driver’s license and a vehicle to use to transport clients. Mileage is reimbursed.
Starting wage: $18.14 hourly.
Duties include the following:
- Emphasis on assisting clients to build independence with activities of daily living, and community integration.
- Reporting responsibilities (incident reports, behavioural data collection and verbal reports)
- Participate in any required training
- Follow policies and procedures as required
- Work a variety of shifts based on a rotational schedule (combination of days, evenings and weekends)
- Perform duties in a professional manner, which respects the dignity and right to privacy and maintains client and staff health and safety.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience in Human Services field
- Current CPI (non-violent crisis prevention intervention) training an asset
- CPR/First Aid training required within the first 3 months of employment
- Proven consistency in work performance, including reliability and flexibility
- Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
- Sound behavioural management skills, cognitive problem-solving skills.
- Post-Secondary preferred in Human and Social Services
- Proven teamwork abilities
- Ability to effectively deal with behavioural situations
- Ability to speak, read, and write English
