Job Summary:
The Sheet Metal Fabricator is responsible for producing high-quality work with zero non-conformances, ensuring compliance with specifications, and meeting work deadlines in a safe manner. This role involves interpreting technical drawings, selecting appropriate materials, cutting, shaping, and forming sheet metal components for the assembly process.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Review and interpret technical drawings to understand the fabrication requirements and specifications.
- Select the appropriate types and gauges of sheet metal or non-metallic materials based on product specifications and design requirements.
- Use various tools and equipment, to cut and shape the sheet metal into the required components.
- Utilize press brakes, rollers, or other equipment to bend and form the sheet metal parts into specific shapes and angles.
- Inspect fabricated components to ensure they meet the required tolerances, dimensions, and overall quality standards.
- Cross-train and perform the work of other job tasks in addition to the primary assigned position.
Job Qualifications:
- 1-3 years sheet metal assembly experience preferred, including experience running fabrication equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to work with various hand tools and operate an industrial powered fork truck.
- Demonstrated proficiency in reading and interpreting work orders and drawings.
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis.
- Ability to meet the physical and sensory demands of the position.

Contacts:
Internal shop staff, engineering design and sales to exchange information and problem solve.
Effort (Physical & Sensory):
- Continuous standing (8-10 hours per day and up to 6 days a week)
- Regular walking, sitting, reaching, climbing or balancing, using fine motor skills; and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Regular lifting and/or moving material (50 lb)
- Regular vision/sensory demands: close, distance, peripheral, depth, and ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions:
- Be exposed to various environmental conditions, such as extreme temperatures extremes, fumes, chemicals, odours, noise and vibration ( >80%)
- Operate machinery, forklifts, and other industrial equipment (50-80%)
- Work at heights ( 80%)
