Overview
Our client is seeking an Accounting Clerk to support their finance department with a variety of tasks including data entry, invoicing, payables, payroll.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform data entry for financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoicing, processing payments, and tracking outstanding balances.
- Collection of receivables
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts on a regular basis.
- Maintain and organize accounting files, ensuring proper documentation for audits and internal controls.
- Process expense reports and verify receipts to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Prepare and file sales taxes and payroll tax filings.
- Payroll processing and ensure timely and accurate payments.
- Prepare reports/analysis as required
- Provide general clerical support for the accounting department
- Assist with other accounting tasks and special projects as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
- 2-5 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial terminology.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Experience with an ERP System (SAP is an asset)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with general ledger and financial reconciliation.
- Knowledge of payroll processing and tax compliance.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and accounting automation tools.
