The Specific terms of employment include:
· Establishing a report with students
· Model appropriate behavior and reactions to events
· Work as a part of the professional team to ensure a safe and respectful environment for everyone
· Assist students with routine, this may involve creating visual schedules, giving reminders in order for transitions to move smoother
· Implement programs as prepared by speech language pathologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and other professionals
· Assist with program support when directed and monitored by teaching staff
· Assist students in completing assigned classroom activities/work or catching up on work missed
· Encourage students to respect the classroom expectations as well as the outside expectations
· Model and encourage respect for self and others
· Record data and observations as requested
· Provide supervision for students
· Be flexible with your workday
Qualifications:
Clear Criminal, Child Abuse and Vulnerable Sector check
Minimum two year diploma in education or support work
