The Centre Director provides comprehensive case management services to residents, supporting individuals as they work toward stability, and increased independence. This position works collaboratively with a Team to assess needs, develop individualized case plans, coordinate access to community resources, and provide ongoing advocacy and emotional support.
The successful candidate demonstrates compassion, sound judgement, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive practice.
Key Responsibilities

- Respond to crises by maintaining a safe environment.
- Promote resident empowerment while respecting individual choices and confidentiality.
- Ensure services comply with professional boundaries, organizational policies, ethical standards, and relevant legislation.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a Diploma or bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology or Sociology.
- Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Management position in residential care.
- Working knowledge of mental health and how the mental health system in NB is organized.
- Working knowledge of the Department of Social Development.
- Training in suicide intervention, risk assessment, de-escalation, motivational interviewing, and non-violent crisis intervention.
- Knowledge of, trauma-informed practice, and strength-based approaches.
- Experience developing daily program plans.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, conflict resolution, and advocacy skills.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and documentation abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgement.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (if required).
- Successful Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
Working Conditions
- Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
- Some evening or weekend hours may be required
- Position may involve responding to clients experiencing crisis or high-stress situations.
- Local travel for appointments, meetings, or community outreach will be required.
