Supervisor, Compliance Controls

Reporting to the Senior Director, Compliance, the Supervisor, Compliance Controls, oversees the identification and auditing of controls to ensure that the company meets its regulatory obligations through its compliance program. The position also calls for the supervision of due diligence requests concerning this program.

Supervise the team responsible for identifying, maintaining and documenting controls related to the firm’s regulatory compliance obligations as well as related due diligence requests;
Supervise the structural testing process and auditing of the effectiveness of controls with the various persons responsible for these controls;
Oversee client and business partner requests and due diligence requests related to the regulatory compliance framework;
Develop a framework to ensure the effective handling of due diligence reviews, the quality of the information reported and compliance with deadlines;
Maintain knowledge of asset management regulations and best practices and identify improvements required in the compliance manual and sector policies, as required;
Participate in the coordination of certain company committees;
Assist the Senior Director in the execution of other tasks and projects, as required and assigned;
Manage the resources under his or her supervision.

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, finance or accounting;
Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation an asset;
Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or any other course related to the securities or asset management industry.
Eight years of experience in asset management, control compliance or internal audit;
Good understanding of the regulatory framework and best practices of the asset management industry (CFA, PMAC, etc.);
Minimum of two years of experience in team management;
Leadership skills and proactivity;
Ability to work autonomously;
Organizational skills and the ability to manage simultaneous priorities;
Ability to exercise diligence, diplomacy and discretion with respect to confidential information;
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
Fluency in English and French (spoken and written).
