The Fox Den Learning is hiring a guitar teacher for the 2026–27 school year.
The Fox Den Learning is an independent music school offering warm, encouraging, and student-centred piano, voice, and guitar lessons to children across Toronto. For more than 10 years, we have helped students develop strong musical skills, confidence, and a lasting enjoyment of music.
We are looking for dependable and engaging guitar teacher who enjoy working with children and are interested in developing long-term relationships with students, families, and our studio.
About the Position
- Teach weekly guitar lessons in students’ homes across Toronto, primarily in the east end
- Primarily weekday after-school and evening hours
- Lessons are 30, 45, or 60 minutes
- Minimum commitment from September 2026 through June 2027
- Strong potential for the position to continue in future school years for teachers who are a good fit
- Opportunity to build a consistent weekly teaching schedule
- Occasional online lessons may be required
- Participation in the studio’s annual recital is required
This is a travelling position. Teachers are responsible for arranging reliable transportation and must be able to arrive safely and punctually at students’ homes.

- Able to adapt lessons to different personalities, interests, goals, and learning needs
- Creative and able to make lessons enjoyable while supporting meaningful musical progress
- Reliable, punctual, organized, and comfortable managing a consistent weekly schedule
- A clear and proactive communicator with families and the studio
- Comfortable working independently while contributing positively to a larger teaching team
Qualifications
- Strong guitar skills, including technique, chords, rhythm, tablature, and music theory
- Experience teaching children and beginners with a patient, adaptable approach
- Clear, reliable communication with families and the studio
- Consistent weekday after-school or evening availability from September through June
- Reliable transportation between students’ homes
- A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check before teaching begins
Compensation and Support
- Consistent monthly compensation based on the teacher’s regular student schedule
- Teachers remain paid for late cancellations, missed lessons, and forfeited student absences
- Up to two paid teacher cancellations per school year
- The studio manages enrollment, billing, policies, and administrative communication
- Ongoing support as teachers build and maintain their schedules
