Our client, an established Family law firm with multiple offices throughout Ontario, is on the hunt for an experienced Family Law Lawyer. The successful candidate will have excellent client service skills, with a friendly and professional demeanour. What you will be doing:
- Manage files from initial consultation through to resolution.
- Preparation of correspondence, legal opinions, memos, briefs, contracts, etc.
- Draft pleadings, agreements, motion records, factums, and other legal documents.
- Conduct Case Conferences, Motions, Trials, etc.
- Provide expert legal advice and advocate for clients in court proceedings, mediations, and negotiations.
- Liaise with clients, lawyers, and other external parties as required.
- Conduct legal research.
What you will bring to the position:
- Minimum of three (3) years of proven professional experience gained in the practice of Family Law.
- Lawyer licensed to practice law in the Province of Ontario and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
- Experience before the Ontario Court and Superior Court of Justice.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and legal software such as DivorceMate and PCLaw.
- Solid understanding of the Rules of Civil Procedure and Family Law Rules.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
