Overview
We are seeking a skilled CAD Designer/Drafter to join our design team. This role involves creating precise technical drawings and schematics for various construction and engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drafting, CAD software, and construction processes, with the ability to translate concepts into detailed, accurate designs. Job Description / Duties
- Read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and fabrication drawings.
- Create 2D fabrication drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Develop weldments, mechanical assemblies, exploded views, and shop drawings.
- Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs), cut lists, and fabrication packages.
- Update existing designs and engineering drawings.
- Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and operations to ensure accurate and practical designs.
- Identify drawing conflicts and constructability issues before fabrication.
- Support prototype assembly, testing, and commissioning as required.
- Perform calculations as required.
- Perform other drafting and design support duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design, Drafting, or a related field.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (Parts, Assemblies, Weldments, and Drawings) and AutoCAD 2D is required.
- Experience with structural steel, weldments, and mechanical assemblies.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and fabrication drawings.
- Knowledge of steel fabrication and manufacturing processes.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Self-motivated and willing to learn.
