Job Summary
The Support Services Worker for the Early Intervention Program plays a vital role in providing comprehensive support to children and families. This position involves coordinating services, facilitating communication, and ensuring effective case management to promote developmental progress. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills. The role requires a compassionate approach, excellent computer skills, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
Duties
- Communicate with families and associates in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
- Adhere to policies and procedures, which may be developed and implemented from time to time and in accordance with funding contracts as required.
- Implement and organize the delivery of support within the community including facilitating educational workshops that support caregiver resiliency.
- Build supportive and trusting relationships with children ages 0-18+ years old, families, and community members.
- Provide referrals to community resources for individual support as needed.
- Provide cultural and traditional support to children and families.
- Meet with families to assess their progress, give support, and discuss any difficulties or problems.
- Participate in team meetings, agency meetings, and training deemed relevant.
- Maintain an appropriate record and information system and ensure that confidentiality is priority.
- Engage in collaborative community partnerships to promote traditional healing, cultural teachings, and practice.
- Ensure that all relevant documentation is completed (contact notes, pre-post evaluations, exit interviews, etc.) and collect appropriate date (including surveys)
- Assist in providing crisis intervention and referrals/resources to other services
- Conduct interviews with families to gather relevant information and assess needs
- Manage time effectively to ensure timely delivery of services and documentation compliance
- Support training & development initiatives to enhance team skills and program quality
Skills
- Satisfactory Police Information Check and Intervention Record Check
- Strong case management experience
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and data entry capabilities
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently
- 3-5 years of experience in facilitating
- Strong ability to create and establish successful educational workshops that support caregiver resiliency
- Advanced knowledge in the Indigenous culture is an asset
- Strong knowledge in child development and stages
- Ability to problem solve and deescalate
- Able to collect data and complete surveys
- Advanced knowledge on community resources available within Edmonton
- Must have flexible availability being able to work some evenings and weekends

Pay: $25.00-$29.00 per hour
