Management Team Member - Vice Principal
- Salary: $23–$26/hour (depending on experience + Wage Enhancement)
Position Summary
The Vice Principal collaborates with the Principal to oversee the daily operations of the school, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality curriculum and adherence to regulatory standards. This role encompasses leadership in educational practices, staff development, operational management, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Educational Leadership
- Support the implementation of the school’s curriculum, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Monitor and evaluate teaching practices to ensure alignment with educational standards.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement among staff.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure the school meets all requirements set forth by relevant educational authorities and public health regulations.
- Maintain accurate records related to licensing and inspections.
- Coordinate and prepare for licensing inspections.
Operational Management
- Assist in the planning and scheduling of daily activities.
- Oversee enrollment processes and maintain student records.
- Manage administrative tasks to support school operations.
Staff Development
- Provide guidance and support to teaching staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
- Identify professional development opportunities for staff.
Community Relations
- Build and maintain positive relationships with families and the community.
- Organize and participate in school events and activities.
- Serve as a liaison between the center and external organizations.
Health & Safety
- Implement CEFA health and safety policies.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety drills and training sessions.
Qualifications
- Valid Early Childhood Education certification or equivalent specific to region
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Minimum three years of teaching experience in a licensed early learning or childcare setting
- Minimum two years of experience in a leadership or administrative role
- Strong knowledge of childcare regulations and applicable licensing standards
- Proven leadership, mentoring, and team-building abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Completion of ECE leadership training or relevant professional development considered an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and general school administration systems
- Must be flexible to work between 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
- Must hold a valid government-issued ID
Working Conditions
- Full-time position
- Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM (8 hours a day)
