Job Summary
The Veterinarian Assistant Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students enrolled in the Veterinary Assistant program. This role involves teaching theoretical concepts, and practical skills, and preparing students for successful careers in veterinary support roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver an engaging and effective curriculum for the Veterinary Assistant program.
- Teach courses in animal care, clinical procedures, anatomy, and other relevant subjects.
- Create lesson plans, assignments, and assessments that meet educational standards.
- Provide hands-on training and supervise lab activities and clinical rotations.
- Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in veterinary medicine.
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and curriculum review.
- Support students in their academic and career development.
Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in veterinary technology, Veterinary Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Veterinary Technician or Veterinarian Assistant.
- 4 years of teaching experience is required in the veterinary sciences field.
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT) is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and online learning platforms.
- Proven track record of curriculum development and instructional excellence.
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
- Experience with accreditation processes and program evaluation.

Requirements
· Two letters of reference from individuals not related to the applicant or associated with the career college attesting to the work and or teaching experience in the discipline or occupation in which the applicant is seeking employment
· Copies of any post-secondary degrees diplomas or certificates noted as the applicant's educational qualifications
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 8 months
Pay: $16.55-$29.97 per hour
