Our client is an award-winning industry leader in modular building manufacturing, specializing in high-quality commercial, industrial, and residential modular structures across Western Canada. Operating out of a state-of-the-art facility in Acheson, AB, they are highly regarded for their exceptional workmanship, safety culture, and collaborative team environment.
What You Will Be Doing, as a JOURNEYMAN CARPENTER:
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and architectural sketches to determine project specifications and material requirements.
- Layout, framing, and installing wood and lightweight steel structural components for modular units (including floors, walls, and roof trusses).
- Cutting, shaping, and assembling wood, wood substitutes, and other building materials.
- Fitting and installing doors, windows, drywall, siding, insulation, trim, and other exterior/interior finishes.
- Utilizing standard carpentry hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Conducting quality checks on completed modules to ensure precision and compliance with building standards.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free shop floor.Other duties as assigned.
What You Should Have, as a JOURNEYMAN CARPENTER:
- Valid Journeyman Carpenter credential (Alberta Qualification or Red Seal Certification).
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in framing, modular manufacturing, or industrial/commercial carpentry.
- Strong proficiency in utilizing carpentry power tools, pneumatic nailers, and measurement instruments.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Physically fit and able to stand, bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a fast-paced shop environment.
- Must have steel-toed boots (CSA approved) and basic carpentry hand tools.
In Return, You Will Receive:
- Competitive pay rate of $33.00 to $37.00 per hour (based on experience).
- Comfortable, climate-controlled indoor manufacturing facility (no working out in extreme weather!).
- Paid weekly, every Tuesday.
- 4% vacation pay – accrued and paid out when you need it.
- Access to a Vertical Representative Monday to Friday 8am to 11pm and on weekends.
The Shift You Will be Working is:
- Days: Monday to Friday
- Time: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- Duration: 4-week short-term contract period (with potential for extension based on project volume).
Where You Will Be Working, as a JOURNEYMAN CARPENTER:
- Main Intersection: Hwy 60 & Highway 16A (Parkland Highway) – Acheson, AB.
- Location Note: This facility is situated in the Acheson Industrial Area. Because public transit is extremely limited during early morning shift starts, having a reliable personal vehicle is highly recommended.
