Small family owned business for opportunities for growth and development
Maybe you’ve been working as a lead skilled tradesperson, or, maybe you’ve worked in property/building maintenance before. Either way, you’re now looking for a leadership position with tons of variety, and an opportunity to make a big impact on a small company.

If that sounds like you, we can’t wait to hear from you.

We’re Lamenza Corporation, and we’re dedicated to creating environments and spaces that matter: places where people can develop their businesses and grow their communities. We create spaces and opportunities for entrepreneurs, changemakers and innovators looking to make a difference.

Right now, we’re looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join our team.

Maintenance Supervisor:
As our new Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll oversee preventative and corrective maintenance for our properties and equipment in the Mississauga and Burlington areas.

Working in coordination with our property management team, you’ll be a key contact for tenants requiring on-site maintenance. You’ll be responsible for the delivery of unscheduled and scheduled maintenance and repairs.

Practically speaking, you’ll:
Train, coach, and work closely with the maintenance team to ensure work is carried out in accordance with building codes and safety standards
Maintain building exteriors (inspect for damage, perform minor repairs, maintain sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and general landscaping)
Carry out carpentry related tasks (e.g., painting drywall, installing flooring/ceiling, etc.), for repairs and improvements to the building’s interior and exterior as needed
Complete minor plumbing/heating duties (e.g., repairing heating and cooling systems, repairing sinks and toilets, etc.)
Provide other construction support and equipment maintenance (e.g., operate equipment for landscaping, use hand and power tools for repairs, purchase supplies, etc.)
Co-ordinate with and supervise a small team of tradespeople to complete maintenance and repairs.

You’ll succeed in this role if you are:
An excellent communicator – you always get your message across clearly and effectively, and you know how to make people feel understood.
A leader – you have the skills and expertise to guide your team, and foster a collaborative environment. You have great judgment and can take initiative to get things done.
A problem solver – you can solve disputes within the team, and assess situations to find a solution. You have a can-do attitude and enjoy finding solutions to complex problems.

Working with Lamenza:
We’re a small and motivated group of people who get a lot done. We believe strongly in our ability to create change, and work tirelessly to achieve that goal. We want you to be a part of that.

In addition to a supportive team environment, here’s what else you can expect:

A full-time, permanent position offering $40,000-$50,000 per year, commensurate with experience, a fantastic benefits package, and paid vacation time
Flexibility in your schedule to work a full 8-hour day anytime from 8am to 6pm
Local travel, usually within Mississauga and Burlington
Company provided hand and power tools

5+ years of relevant experience working as a skilled tradesperson (e.g., carpentry, landscaping, plumbing, building renovation, or related)
Experience repairing building related equipment, e.g. HVAC heating and cooling systems, plumbing equipment, or similar
Experience safely using hand tools and power tools for general interior and exterior building maintenance
Experience working as a team leader or formal supervisor
Experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, etc.) for communication and basic spreadsheets
Valid driver’s license and access to one’s own vehicle
Any certification in a relevant skilled trade or in construction is an asset, but is not required
High school diploma or equivalent
