Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Skid Steer Operator to join our Asphalt team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating skid steers and other heavy equipment to assist in various asphalt projects. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy machinery, safety protocols, and efficient operation to ensure project success and safety on-site.
Duties
- Operate skid steers with precision to move materials, clear sites, and assist in construction tasks
- Utilize equipment such as loaders, excavators, dozers, backhoes, graders, and pavers as needed
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on heavy machinery to ensure optimal performance
- Assist with horizontal drilling, paving, and other specialized construction activities
- Follow safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe work environment
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate equipment use and project timelines
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and maintenance activities
Skills
- Proven experience operating skid steers and heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and pavers
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting minor issues and performing basic maintenance
- Familiarity with Caterpillar machinery and other heavy equipment brands
- Ability to operate related machinery including horizontal drills and construction tools
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred but not required
- Strong understanding of construction site safety standards and procedures
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
- Knowledge of construction processes including paving, grading, and excavation techniques

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
