Job Summary
Prime Boiler Services is looking for a Lead Operator | Technical Coordinator to support the safe, reliable, and consistent execution of operator-led rental work. This role provides both field leadership and technical coordination, acting as a key connection point between boiler operators, field supervisors, service, rentals administration, and operations leadership.
The successful candidate will lead by example in the field, support mobilization and demobilization readiness, assist with practical troubleshooting, reinforce operating standards, and help develop new and growing operators through hands-on coaching and clear communication.
Duties
- Coordinate day-to-day operator activities on assigned jobs and provide practical direction in the field.
- Reinforce expectations around safety, conduct, paperwork, customer interaction, and site readiness.
- Support safe and efficient site start-ups, operating routines, shift transitions, shutdowns, and demobilizations.
- Monitor site conditions and escalate technical, safety, client, equipment, or scheduling concerns as needed.
- Train and mentor new or developing operators on field tasks, site routines, documentation, troubleshooting, and company expectations.
- Support mobilization and demobilization readiness by confirming field readiness, identifying equipment or site gaps, and helping complete checklists and turnover items.
- Complete daily reports, field updates, operating records, safety documentation, and other required paperwork accurately and on time.
- Work closely with the field supervisor, rentals administration, service team, rentals salespersons, operations leadership, and customer site contacts to support successful job execution.
- Contribute field insight to training content, operating standards, KPI tracking, and lessons learned from starts, shutdowns, incidents, and customer feedback.
Skills
- Minimum 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate required.
- Practical field experience in boiler operations, rental operations, or related industrial site work.
- Experience mentoring, training, or informally leading others in a field environment is considered an asset.
- Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel to customer sites as required.
- Working knowledge of operating paperwork, safety documentation, and basic digital reporting systems.
This role is both office- and customer-site-based, with regular exposure to industrial environments, travel, and changing site conditions. The position requires sound judgment and adherence to company and customer safety standards.
The ideal candidate brings strong boiler operating knowledge, practical field awareness, and the ability to recognize when issues can be handled in the field versus when technical or service escalation is required.
They are organized, responsive, and able to balance urgency with sound judgment in changing field conditions. They lead by example, build trust with operators, supervisors, clients, and internal departments, and communicate steadily and professionally.
This is an opportunity to take on a practical leadership role that directly supports operator development, field execution, customer service, and operational consistency within the Rentals team. The Lead Operator | Technical Coordinator will play an important role in helping operators succeed in the field while supporting safer, smoother, and more reliable rental operations
Pay: $52.00-$56.00 per hour
