Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Accountant to join our team in Canada. This role is vital in managing financial records, ensuring accuracy, and supporting our company's financial health. The successful candidate will contribute to our mission of providing high-quality industrial solutions with integrity.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the General Manager, the duties and responsibilities of the Accountant include but are not limited to the following:
1. Administer and monitor the financial system in order to ensure that Coverall finances are maintained in an accurate and timely manner.
· Direct and coordinate company financial planning and budget management functions
· Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of departments
· Monitor and analyse monthly operating results against budget
· Direct and coordinate debt financing and debt service payments with external stakeholders
· Oversee the daily operations of the finance department by managing the accounts payable, accounts receivable and purchasing functions
· Manage the preparation of the official annual report of actual revenues, transfers, and expenses
· Manage the preparation of financial outlooks and financial forecasts
· Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions
· Work with department managers to develop five year and ten year business plans for the company
· Establish and implement short and long-range department goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
· Design, establish, and maintain an organisational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the department's goals and objectives
· Serve on planning and policy-making committees
· Serve as primary legislative liaison relative to company financial issues
· Full disclosure of financial information to assist auditors as and when required
· Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate department staff
· Provide Accounting policy orientation to new staff
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
· Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
·Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
· Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis
· Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
