What You'll Do:

Coordinate shipments, deliveries, and pickups using company assets and third-party transportation providers.

Plan and optimize daily loads, routes, and carrier assignments to maximize service levels and transportation efficiency.

Optimize trailer and container utilization, routing opportunities, and backhaul programs to reduce transportation costs.

Track orders from origin to destination to ensure on-time delivery and proactively address potential service disruptions.

Secure carrier capacity during peak periods and proactively manage transportation constraints.

Monitor and evaluate carrier performance, including on-time delivery, claims, service levels, and cost efficiency.

Resolve transportation issues including delays, shortages, damages, incorrect deliveries, and carrier service failures.

Lead recovery efforts during major service disruptions, weather events, capacity shortages, and other transportation emergencies.

Maintain accurate transportation and logistics records within Transportation Management Systems (TMS).

Analyze freight spend, transportation metrics, and operational performance to identify trends and cost-saving opportunities.

Prepare and communicate regular reports on shipment performance, freight costs, service levels, and operational KPIs.

Act as the primary logistics contact for Distribution Centers, Replenishment, Procurement, Customer Service, and Transportation teams.

Support replenishment, procurement, and distribution activities as required.

Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce operating costs.

Support the onboarding, training, and development of Load Planners and Logistics Coordinators.

Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, transportation regulations, and customer requirements.
What You'll Need:
College diploma or university degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, Transportation, or a related field preferred.

Minimum 3–5 years of transportation, logistics, or supply chain experience.

Experience working with third-party logistics providers (3PLs), carriers, and transportation brokerage operations.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including: Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Power Query, Data analysis and reporting

Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS), including Trimble TruckMate and/or Blue Yonder.

Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work effectively under pressure while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to customer service.

Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, carriers, and external partners.

Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on operational excellence and cost optimization
-
Experience within large-scale retail, grocery, food distribution, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or high-volume distribution environments is considered an asset.

Experience negotiating transportation rates and service agreements is preferred.
