Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist Work NC programming or to join our top notch shop & manufacturing team on a STEADY DAYS shift schedule. This direct hire position offers an excellent opportunity for experienced professionals to contribute to precision machining operations. The ideal candidate will operate and set up CNC machines, including lathes and milling machines, to produce high-quality components in accordance with technical specifications. A strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency in CNC programming, and familiarity with CAD software are essential for success in this role. The CNC Machinist will play a vital part in ensuring efficient production processes while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate, set up, and maintain CNC milling machines .
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing specifications to produce precise parts.
- Program CNC machines using G-code and other relevant programming languages to optimize machining processes.
- Use precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions and ensure quality control.
- Perform routine machine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments to minimize downtime.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment as needed for assembly or finishing tasks.
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to improve workflow efficiency and reduce waste.
- Maintain accurate documentation of machining processes, setups, and inspections.
- Collaborate with engineering teams using SolidWorks or CAD software for design modifications or improvements.
- Support safety protocols by adhering to proper procedures when operating machinery and handling materials.
Skills
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery, especially CNC milling machines and CNC lathes.
- Proficiency in CNC programming languages such as G-code; familiarity with Fanuc controls is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to machining processes, tooling, and machine maintenance.
- Ability to read complex blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Experience with CAD software like SolidWorks or other design tools for manufacturing applications.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and process adjustments.
- Familiarity with manufacturing environments emphasizing lean principles.
- Competence in using hand tools, power tools, calipers, and welding equipment effectively.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, assembly techniques, and quality inspection procedures.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely when handling materials within the shop environment.
