The Sales Professional will be responsible for servicing all classes of trade within their geographical territory (East Kootenay’s, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Brooks, Strathmore, Pincher Creek, Claresholm, Cochrane, Canmore, Banff). The objective will be to manage all aspects of sales and merchandising functions while providing exceptional customer service
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
- Published Call Cycle adherence and follow protocol & policy
- DSD function to include and not limited to maximizing the sales orders/ secondary product placements / upselling promotions / product rotation / return policy compliance
- Merchandising function will include and not limited to planogram compliance / distribution and pricing audits / upsell promotions / secondary placements opportunities
- Maximize use of all POS materials
- Check previous orders and follow up on all future orders
- In store, check labels, prices, rotation and condition of products
- Place and maintain inventory
- Responsible for store layouts, where applicable, as required
- Service customers assigned by the company
- Answer questions from store managers
- In conjunction with the order desk, handle store manager complaints
- All other related tasks such as: price checking, helping to set up displays, checking expiry dates on certain products, "blitz" sales on certain targeted products, helping with certain office checks
- Covering the East Kootenay’s, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Brooks, Strathmore, Pincher Creek, Claresholm, Cochrane, Canmore, Banff.
Working conditions
Part time work, 2 days per week on the road with base salary / vehicle allowance and bonus opportunities. The regular work week is 16 hours. Work can be high-pressure at peak times and may require overtime on occasion.
Academic training
· Professional Diploma in Sales or College Degree in Administration (an asset)
Experience, competencies and aptitudes
- At least 2 years’ experience as a sales representative/merchandiser
- Fluency in spoken and written French and English an asset* according to the province
- Experience in the food industry (an asset)
- Valid driver's license and automobile
- Ability to promote products and services
- Focused on customer service and results
- High degree of autonomy
- Good communicator and negotiator
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure (traffic, bad weather, unforeseen situations, etc.)
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities, schedules and customer requirements
