In this vital role, you will oversee daily administrative operations, coordinate patient scheduling, manage billing and insurance processes, and support the clinical team to ensure exceptional service delivery. Responsibilities
- Manage appointment scheduling using Dentrix dental practice management software, ensuring optimal patient flow and timely follow-ups
- Handle patient check-in and check-out procedures with professionalism and warmth, verifying insurance details and updating electronic medical records accurately
- Coordinate billing, coding, and insurance claims processing while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations
- Supervise administrative staff, providing guidance on office procedures, human resources policies, and customer service standards
- Maintain accurate records of patient information, treatment plans, and financial transactions within electronic medical records systems
- Support clinical staff by managing supply inventories, equipment maintenance schedules, and ensuring adherence to infection control protocols
- Assist with budgeting tasks, including expense tracking and financial reporting to support the practice’s fiscal health
Experience
- Proven experience working in a dental or medical office environment with familiarity using Dentrix or similar practice management software
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and electronic medical records systems
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience in a healthcare setting is highly desirable
- Knowledge of human resources practices related to staff scheduling, training, and performance management
- Experience with billing, coding, insurance claims processing, and budgeting within a healthcare context
- Hospital or acute care experience is a plus, especially if combined with nursing or healthcare administration background
