Invites applications for the position of:
IT School Technician (1.0 FTE Permanent)
Under the direction of the Manager of Information Technology, the IT School Technician is responsible for supporting the effective operation and reliability of IT systems and services across a group of assigned school board locations.
The preferred candidate will possess a degree or diploma in Information Technology or a related field, and demonstrate excellent customer service, attention-to-detail, problem-solving, and communication skills, along with the proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Familiarity with MDM platforms, educational technologies, Chrome OS, Windows, and help desk ticketing systems is considered a strong asset.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Providing responsive on-site and remote technical support to staff and students
Managing and documenting support tickets through the board’s help desk system
Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues
Configuring and supporting devices, software applications, and systems in accordance with board standards
Participating in system-wide device deployments
Collaborating with IT team members to deliver on department-wide goals
Supporting audio, visual, and technical requirements of events
Contributing to IT projects and staying current with emerging technologies and best practices
This role requires daily travel within the city. A valid G-class driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle are mandatory.
